Healing Touch

What is Healing Touch?
Healing Touch is a type of complementary healing using hands-on and energy-based techniques to balance and align the human energy field. Body, mind, emotion and spirit are touched through this therapeutic process, and each individual is empowered to participate fully in his or her healing journey.

How Does Healing Occur?
All healing is basically self-healing. A physician can set two bone fragments in place, but the body itself finally knits the bones together and heals the split; the physician simply directs and facilitates the process. Healing Touch (HT) is a different and often complementary mode of facilitating the healing process, but functions from an energy perspective. The Healing Touch Practitioner re-aligns the energy flow, reactivating the mind/body/spirit connection to eliminate blockages to self-healing.

Who Can Benefit?
Because HT influences the whole person on all levels, it is appropriate for everyone and can take place in any setting including:
Hospitals, Delivery Rooms
Healing Centers, Hospices
Accident Scenes, Homes, Schools

Healing Touch in Hospitals and Medical Schools
Did you know?
Hands-on touch modalities are used by more than 30,000 nurses in hospitals each year, and the procedures are documented as legitimate medical techniques.
Teams of medical doctors and nurses combine medical skills WITH hands-on and energy techniques in MOST major cities of the United States.
The world's first Touch Research institute was founded at the University of Miami's Medical School to further explore and document the benefits of touch therapy.
Documented studies have already shown that with hands-on healing:

  • Surgical wounds heal faster
  • Burns heal significantly faster
  • Circulation and breathing improve after surgery
  • Premature infants have enhanced growth rate

In 1995, 41% of the population of the USA used one or more of the alternative healing methods to either complement or substitute for traditional medical techniques.

Raindrop Therapy

What is Raindrop Therapy?
A Raindrop Therapy Session
Raindrop Therapy is a healing technique using pure essential oils. The practitioner dispenses the oils along the client's spine like little drops of rain from a height of about six inches. The oils are gently brushed up the spine and lightly massaged over the rest of the back. A hot compress is applied, which facilitates oil absorption and relaxes the muscles.
Treatment of Conditions
The Raindrop technique was designed to bring the body into structural and electrical alignment. Reported benefits include:
- Elimination of back pain and disfigurement
- Relief from skin conditions
- Relaxation and invigoration
- Increase in energy levels
- Relief from emotional issues and depression

The Theory of Raindrop Therapy:
A Brief Summary

Developed by nutritionist Gary Young of Idaho, Raindrop Therapy is based on the theory that many spinal misalignments are caused by pathogens that reside dormant along the backbone; this condition creates inflammation causing contortion and disfigurement along the spinal column. The application of highly antimicrobial essential oils reduces inflammation and kills the pathogens, thus providing symptom relief.

Gary Young has researched herbal medicine and aromatherapy for over 20 years. He credits the Native American Lakotas, the Hunza people of the Himalayan Mountains, and residents of Inner Mongolia for inspiring his work. To learn more about Gary Young's work, visit his web site at youngliving.com
